The Okapi

Hello friends! Today I bring you a very curious animal.

The Okapi (Okapia Johnstoni) is a mammal that was discovered in the African continent, its appearance is similar to the mixture between a horse, zebra and a giraffe; Archaeological studies have determined that this is in a morphological derivation of the giraffes of the archaic period, due to the similarity it has with the fossils found.

These mammals are quiet animals, nocturnal and are passed in small groups, also is herbivore therefore their diet consists of leaves, shoots and stems of trees, shrubs, herbs, fruits and even fungi.

The only predators that present this species are the leopards and, unfortunately, the humans this is due to deforestation, mining, poaching and the situation of conflict that humans cause, this fantastic animal is in danger of extinction.
