Animalphtography - Ground Squirrels in Summer

I can't await next month when the Ground Squirrels will wake up from their hibernation sleep from the winter. I will for sure visite them several times this year and also some pictures from the spring will be obligatory for me. Last year i visited them several times in summer and spring for some animalphotography. Because most of them live in Lower Austria and there are no ground squirrels in Upper Austria i have to drive at least one and a half hours with the car to get to a spot where i can take these nice pictures.

But i will arm myself with carrots, vegetables and fruits to be prepared and get some closeup pictures of them. Because it is easier to get some nice closeup pictures when you can tamper the ground squirrels with some food. Most of the closup pictures i shot with my 150-600 mm Sigma lens but when it is later in the summer and the ground squirrels are already used to your presence and not afraid that you hurt them then you can also get some nice closup pictures with a wide angle lens. I already know that i will for sure spend several hours with the ground squirrels this next summer, because it is every time something very special for me.
