Llama

This nice animal is the largest of the South American camelids. Its size can vary between 1.50 and 2.00 meters, and can weigh up to 150 kg. Its body is covered by a long fiber that can be of different colors. These animals have been used by man for the use of sucarne, its fibers in tissues and, fundamentally, as pack animals. The flames live around twenty years. Its natural range corresponds to the Andean mountains of South America but nowadays they are also found in North America, Europe and Australia.

• Ese simpático animal es el más grande de los camélidos sudamericanos. Su tamaño puede variar entre 1.50 y 2.00 metros, y puede pesar hasta 150 kg. Su cuerpo esta cubierto por una larga fibra que puede ser de diversos colores.Estos animales han sido utilizados por el hombre para el aprovechamiento de su carne, de sus fibras en tejidos y, fundamentalmente, como animales de carga. Las llamas viven alrededor de veinte años. Su área de distribución natural corresponde a las montañas andinas de América del Sur pero hoy en día también se les encuentra en Norteamérica, Europa y Australia.
