Zoo Visit!

Indian Peafowl - Pavo cristatus
I was feeling up for a walk today so my mom and I went to visit our local zoo. They had recently opened a new red panda exhibit and I hadn't been to see it yet.
The photo above is of one of the peacocks which are tagged and roam freely around the zoo alongside the peahens.
This is a Harbor Seal. There are three at the zoo and they usually hang out with the Sea Lions. Nextdoor are two young polar bears which play and explore and then nap in the heat of the day.
Last but not least, a beautiful Red Panda! These beautiful animals are endangered and being bred in captivity through the Species Survival Plan to keep their genetic diversity high. The polar bears are also bred through this program.

I love to see the peacocks , the look elegant and bold , I feel they are proud birds . It's nice to know more of endangered species protected that they might not be extinct ..

Looked like a great day at the zoo. You were able to see some cool ones. Love peacocks - of course they are louder than our rooster and they fly up on people's roofs when out... they are exuberant birds. Hang in there. Cheers!!
