Symbols are a good way to promote diversity.

If one questions whether that makes symbol a good thing or not, one has to question whether promoting diversity or not is a good thing. In a way, I do think that it is, but a small nagging voice in the back of my head wants to say that this symbolism is an indirect way to keep walls in place where bridges should be.
