What do you think are the top 3 breed of dogs that should not be left with your kids? Why?
It's not the breed that matters, but how you treat a dog. Banned breeds, the breeds that people consider 'the most dangerous' and so on change from decade to decade. These days it's pit bulls but in the past it was dobermans and a bunch of other breeds too.
But dogs are still animals as well, and should not be left alone with the very young. It's fine to leave the child near the dog as long as there is an adult supervising in the room, but beyond that it's fine. At what age you can leave a child unsupervised with an animal is up to the parent to judge that individual child's level of responsibility and if that would be safe or not.
Judge the dog as an individual, not as a breed.
