Bighorn Sheep of San Ysidro
I met these fine specimens in the winter of 2015 in the San Ysidro Mountains. They were not overly concerned with me or my hiking buddies. It is always a rare treat to get close to these animals in the wild. Two of them had been tagged by rangers for tracking and herd counting.
So badass! I love bighorn sheep. My friends like to say I'm 3/4 bighorn since I like to climb mountains all the time. lol. I see bighorns a lot up in the East fork San Gabriel river in the San Gabriel mountains. Pretty much every trip up there actually.
Cool! I've seen them along the east fork as well. My first encounter was on the slopes of Bighorn Mountain on the way to Ontario. It's always special.
