Isekai Quartet is...

When Isekai Quartet was first announced, I was a bit excited. I enjoyed all the involved shows and really wanted to see extra seasons for most of them. So when the first episode came out, I was more than a little disappointed. The plot is just you are here at school now, so do school things. If I wanted to see that, I wouldn't watch a show with "isekai" in the title, but whatever. Like I predicted before, it's become a pure comedy show where the butt of each joke is either a trope from the involved show, or some mismatch of the characters' personalities. I can't say it never made me laugh, but that's not enough for a show to be worth one's time. It's kind of funny that Rem gets along with Albedo, but there's no reason for me to care because nothing is going on.

The time constraint is a real problem for the show. Each episode is a twelve minute short with a full OP and ED. This leaves 25% of the run time being shared between episodes. Plus, if you're watching on crunchyroll, neither is translated. The ed is just a song about the girls from each isekai show getting together and having a girls' party with tea and cocoa, and I couldn't be bothered to translate the op. It's not like you're missing out on anything due to the short episodes, however. Even if the run time was brought to normal, it would just be more low quality nonsense.
