i quite enjoy this anime. I agree with you in mostly everything, but this is considered a new type of anime now. if you think it a bit it's like overlord in an essence. you have an actual person that goes to another world being op. Overlord has more plot and story but is more op having a whole fucking army while the slime is trying to built it. Both also wanna learn more about the world and we learn along side with them. Also there are 2-3 anime one with a spider reincarnation (i think it will air next season) one with a goblin reincarnation and one with the skeleton reincarnation. All have the same concept, unique skills that make the protagonist op and then exploring the world!
