I feel back because these analyses really deserve a better payout! Have you heard of Blame? It's a Netflix exclusive, but I'd love to hear your opinions on it! :)
Yes, I watched the Netflix Blame!. It's an interesting idea but the movie didn't do all that much with it. We know as little when it ends as when it starts. The only things that forwarded the plot were plot devices such as the corpse and the takeover of that girl by the hivemind. It even ends on a semi-cliffhanger.
I wouldn't be surprised if the manga was far better in every way because Polygon Pictures is very good at butchering things.
Haha, awesome break-down thanks mate. I see that so often in anime with an awesome concept that's just fumbled. I know I'd probably get skewered alive for saying this by a lot of people but I even found ghost in the shell could have done more with the ideas it was exploring!
Ghost in the Shell has its problems, like treating the plot as secondary. But Oshii is such a good director that he makes up for his disregard of the plot with theme exploration, like transhumanism, and clear imagery and symbolism. It’s difficult to make criticisms of it even though the flaws should be so obvious.
Yeah you're right. It was a spectacular film, but it would have had a 13 hour run time if they gave the plot justice and explored a little more

They also would have had to have called it "Stand Alone Complex".
