... smart investor said on TV that cryptocurrency are for the poor. We that don’t have 100k to lose. We don’t have to be afraid of new things. I listened... what about you guys ?
There is a fear of the unknown that will repel the layman and the old school investors.
For us already invested to a point (very small stake all the way up to overcommitted,) the problem is that it is not mooning quick enough.
While crypto widespread adoption is not a sure thing and destruction of fiat is a real long shot, time will tell. As blockchain evolves and takes on more mainstream value, the stigma will be reduced gradually.
Consider for a second that traditional fiat institutions see the threat posed by crypto. Building up the knowledge to get a slice of that pie takes time. If I were them, I would assemble a covert hedge fund to get a stake, yank it at key intervals to kill any huge inflation, and build that by 10% every time possible. When the stake is high enough and it is time to inflate that stake, institutions will join the antifud bandwagon and accelerate the adoption of crypto rather than stagnate it purposefully like they are doing now.
This is all just educated guessing though and the fundamental is not to invest more than you can afford to lose, and learn as many lessons along the way as you can.
The fear will subside when the corporate overlords deem it fit for their sheep.
