There are pretty decent open world games (try the Witcher series (number 3 in particular!), this is a bit restricted as far as open world goes. Or give elder scrolls or the new fallout series a run if you haven't already!
I know I have been wanting to build a gaming rig that would serve as a video editing machine as well. So many games I'd like to play especially Witcher 3 which was game of the the year if I'm not mistaken. Fall out I think I have it on my HD for ps3 maybe would give it a try.
