Hello, my dearest friends! The history of Kuban is inextricably linked with winemaking. Coming to our region, many tourists are sure to try fragrant wines, thereby getting acquainted with the hospitable Kuban.

We have the right climate and the perfect terroir :-) for the production of a wide variety and juicy varieties of this "fragrant product".

The first evidence that the territory of the modern Kuban vineyards were broken, belong to the VI century BC winemaking Traditions were presented by the Greeks, who willingly shared the secrets of skill and recipes intoxicating drink.

Viticulture developed, there were more and more new wineries and by the XVII century about the Kuban wine and learned in white Stone Moscow. At the same time, the Royal dignitaries were imported valuable varieties of French grapes, and new production technologies were mastered.

To this day, many wineries Kuban use those ancient devices and mechanisms.

However, the formation of the Kuban wine largely contributed to the neighborhood with Abkhazia and Georgia. In many wineries of the region, the wine continues to ferment in clay vessels called qvevri (without handles in the form of amphorae).

Of course, the wine is often stored in all kinds of jugs.

Many years ago, thanks to the Kuban, General Dimitri Pilenko (the founder of the first in the Kuban region of vineyards in Abrau-Dyurso). Then in the region also brought in such well-known varieties: sauvignon, riesling, pineman, aligote, chardonnay and many others. A little later was invited here and the famous Czech agronomist-winemaker Franz Heyduk.

These people laid the new foundations of winemaking and started the business, which today continue numerous wineries of the region.
