I want to show a Berlin monument to Soviet soldiers, which, perhaps, not everyone knows. More famous is the memorial complex in Treptower Park with the famous sculpture of a Soviet soldier holding a little girl in his arms.
But in the heart of the city, on the edge of the Tiergarten park near the Reichstag, there is another monument. More than 2,000 Soviet soldiers killed in the Battle of Berlin are buried here.
The monument was opened on November 11, 1945. At the opening in front of the monument there was a parade of Allied troops.
The sculptors Vladimir Tsigal and Lev Kerbel and the architect N. V. Sergievsky created the project of the monument.
On a high pedestal is a figure of a Soviet soldier, on columns around - the lists of dead soldiers and officers. There are only 178 names from several thousand.
On the right is the dome of the Reichstag.
"Eternal glory to heroes who fell in battle with the German fascist invaders for the freedom and independence of the Soviet Union."

Хочу показать берлинский памятник советским солдатам, который, может быть, не все знают. Более известен мемориальный комплекс в Трептов-парке со знаменитой скульптурой советского солдата, держащего на руках маленькую девочку.
Но в самом центре города, на краю парк Тиргартен около Рейхстага, есть ещё один памятник. Здесь захоронены более 2000 советских бойцов, погибших в битве за Берлин.
Памятник был открыт 11 ноября 1945 года. При открытии перед памятником прошёл парад союзнических войск.
Создали проект памятника скульпторы Л. Е. Кербель и В. Е. Цигаль и архитектор Н. В. Сергиевский.
На высоком постаменте стоит фигура советского солдата, на колоннах вокруг списки погибших солдат и офицеров. На них только 178 имен из нескольких тысяч.
Справа виден купол Рейхстага.
«Вечная слава героям, павшим в боях с немецко-фашистскими захватчиками за свободу и независимость Советского союза».
