The General Post office or GPO is one of the few structures worked by British, have been worked in 1887 to praise the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria. The GPO rules one end of The Shopping center close Anarkali. It is the main British time frame working in Lahore which has been reestablished. The GPO underscored the need of documentation and preservation of notable design in the city's downtown territory. Amid the mid-1970s, the first block work of the GPO had been harmed the use of shading crating having pulverized its unique highlights, bringing about a mysterious and no-descriptive prospect.

The main tower is situated at the intersection of the two wings and transcends the corner towers as a tremendous battered component. The pinnacle is delegated by a vast hemispherical arch, characterized by support like components; it conveys huge timekeepers on four sides. The General Mail station mirrors a blend of European and Mughal styles. It is legacy landmark and still the main post office in the city.
