Las Arepas Andinas
La arepa andina es una variante de la arepa venezolana, conocida particularmente en los estados andinos de Mérida, Táchira y Trujillo. Su elaboracion es muy sencilla, a diferencia de la arepa regular, la arepa de trigo es horneada y sólo en algunos casos, cocida en budare de leña o a gas. Para su elaboracion se necesita
Ingredientes :
- 1/2 Kg de harina de trigo.
- 2 cucharadas de mantequilla.
- 1 huevo.
- Leche líquida tibia, la necesaria para amasar.
- Sal al gusto.
- 2 cucharadas de azúcar, si se quiere un poco más dulce se agrega más.
- 1 cucharadita de polvo de hornear.
Preparacion :
Colocar la harina con el polvo de hornear en una taza , junto con la sal y el azúcar, mezclar. Hacerle un hueco en el centro y añadir la mantequilla con el huevo.Se mezcla bien, hasta que no queden grumos, luego poco a poco la leche amasando hasta que este suave, se deja reposar por una hora
Después se les da forma circular a las porciones de masa aplastándolas para hacer las arepas, que no queden muy gruesa porque quedarian crudas, se puya con un tenedor para que salga el aire
Se calienta un budare o plancha de cocina, se colocan las arepas y se doran por ambos lados.
