Tick, tock. Tick, tock. The world is ruled by time, eh? Well, Consider for a moment, that somewhere in the world it's 1992 and somewhere else it's some other year that is calculated in numbers that have universal significance but not in the literal sense. Consider aboriginal and Indigenous tribes have no concept of what we call "time".

What does it all mean?

If you take the scientific approach...Time is a funny thing. It's a measure of space that holds matter in place.

Some believe the past, present, and future coexist Now....only divided by our experiences lifetime after lifetime. Now that one is a hard one to swallow, I know. But it's possible, right? I believe so... but what's the point of all this?

In my mind, we are all connected by time and space. In our busy, electrifying computer age, we rush, rush, and rush. Downloading massive amounts of information in a few seconds. Our minds are hit with all kinds of messages and input before it hits noon. How can we sustain life this way? How can our brains sustain this amount of overactivity before it makes us crazy?

Meditation is the practice and art of slowing the mind enough to heighten awareness and focus energy. When it comes to the rush of the clock, nothing has helped me more than meditation. I sought to Understand how it all really works and the appreciation for enjoying my time made me approach life differently.

Next time you find yourself rushed. Try this simple meditation. This will take about 1 minute.

Get comfortable. Lay or sit in a comfortable place (out under a tree is a great place to start)

Take a deep breath in...hold for 4 secs.

Exhale, deeply. Removing all the old stale air out of your lungs.

Inhale for another 4 seconds

Exhale. Hold the exhale for 4 seconds.

Repeat these steps 4 times. Each time noticing your breath, keeping your awareness on it.

Stand. Inhale and stretch your arms to the sky, elongating your back as much as you can.

Exhale slowly as you slowly lower your arms back to your side.

Take a moment to notice your body tingling and feeling rejuvenated.

This meditation is great for when you wake up or when you are feeling over-anxious.
