Commissions Over Coffee
Recently I had uploaded an article in which I had shared about gifting a portrait to my neighbors on their baby boy’s birthday. They actually commissioned a piece soon after that and I think I am nearly done with it. I loved every hour of it knowing that it is going to be a part of someone’s home and honestly that has always mattered most to me.
It also made me a fast thinker because I had to do all the math in the distance between my house to theirs, which is like 2 minutes. It’s important that you always have a rough picture in your mind regarding the charges, sizes, nature of work, etc. Also you should know if you will be able to deliver what is asked of you and not agree hastily. Fortunately, I was confident that it would be under my control and accepted it. Of course, it is a little intimidating when factors like personal relations are considered but I look forward to meeting them!
