The Grand C.

It is one of my wishes to visit the the grand canyon and look up at the little open curve from below. A few of my friends shared some gorgeous pictures from here and I love the curves and multiple colors on the stones, I mean who doesn’t haha.

When I started off with this painting I swear it looked as if it was going to fail miserably. The shades from the curvature was a little tough to achieve and there is a lot of space to be improved but unfortunately the paper couldn’t take more abuse! 😅 But I do like the aqua-ish color of the sky and when I look at it in a glance it almost looks like water 😁

I used watercolors with very high opacity and used the least amount of water I could. I was feeling a little lazy to mix up some colors in gouache which were readily available in watercolor so I switched the mediums hehe.
