Pointillism - a new page in the sketchbook.

in #art6 years ago (edited)

Hello, fellow Steemians :)
Today : sharing a bit of pointillism .

This one has lasted some time... Started before this summer.

Like with most of my pointillist drawing, I work on them when I can't find time to concentrate long enough for other heavier techniques. Usually I polish the raw values at home as a finisher.

For this one I've set a small personal trial : only adding dots during dead times at work, which, as a hotline technician, are very short between calls, and prevent any form of durable creative concentration.

I decided to transform these moments into shorts bursts of free creation, with the hope that overtime something would get out of this cloud of dots.

I like to think that each wave of dots represents a few of these precious seconds that escaped the heavy bureaucratic machinery governing this kind of jobs.

Dots Unite ! :D

Tools : fine liners (0.1 and 0.4)
Size : around 10/8cm
Here's a closer view :

I have another one on the run, but it's still too raw, curious to see what it will give us :)

That's all folks,
Have a nice day, dear Steemians !

Cool drawing @berien! Great style. I like pointillism and did a few but so time consuming.

Thanks a lot, @sanderjansenart :)

Yeah, that's a style I only use with time I wouldn't dedicate to more planned work : all these small moments I know I can't focus on bigger things, but I don't want to spoil doing nothing :)

These dots don't ask much concentration to be applied : just need to let them draw by themselves, which often leads to some meditation state at some point when working long enough with them.

Thank you, much appreciated :)

Ohhh so pretty <3.

I love all those dots and a great face you made on this art.

I'm glad you have another one in the making ^_^.

Thanks @scrawly :)
I was naively planning to fill a small skecthbook with them...
4 pages in 6 month...
I might have to live 200years for this goal to be achieved... :D

eres muy bueno, esta genial.

Muchas gracias, @rowell :)

Exciting style, intuitive

Thanks @tomschlaiss :)
I love pointillism for this intuitive aspect... Just let the picture build itself, wave of dots after wave :)

This is a very interesting technique. You sketch looks very expressive! I can imagine it took a lot of time!

Thanks a lot :)
Well, it tooks a long time due to the ultra-fragmented and short work sessions...

If they were compressed all together, I bet they would only represent a few hours :) (I also bet that the result would be radically different :) )

Oh, yeah, I sometimes try to do this also, during spare moments at work, trying to squeeze art into miniscule moments !

Nice work, Pascal <3 Love the strange profile <3 <3 <3

Best way to stay aligned with our creative part when we can't let it get out at full throttle :D

Thanks a lot, for this specific comment, but also for the constant support :)
