Banksy just did a Banksy
'Girl with a balloon' one of Banksy most famous paintings went up for auction yesterday. The painting sold for 1 million pounds which is around 1.4 million dollars. The auctioneers hammer went down then this happened :
This has shocked the art world .Banksy whose identity is still unknown posted a video soon after.
This has shocked the art world but the good news is that the painting has now doubled in value.
I love Banksy's work and this last little prank was right up his street. What a guy . Haha

It's a good stunt and puts him back in the limelight. I would have been pissed if I had just bought it but then you said it doubled in value. He had to have been there and set up a frame with a device that allows that to happen.
Thats the thing. Noone knows who he is and he is . They actually think he is the bassist for massive attack as whenever they tour a banksy appears in the city The second video is him making the shredder frame so it's just a matter of triggering it

Wow I saw the article but now just watched the two videos. Wow. Lots of advance preparation for that hahaha. And interesting that his identity is a mystery. And is there a place you can see what the value of that art is?
Not many of his works go to auction as he does most of his work on buildings and alot have been painted over. There was one of his paintings sold for 72k before he developed into the artist he is today.i went through all his work . some have been widely argued about especially the girl catching heart balloon . This one was to gauge how much it is worth in today's world and then the shredding happened !
His greatest achievement is that he manages to still remain anonymous in this day and age.

It has been trending since it happened. At first I thought 'Gut must be crazy', then when I saw the attention it got I now see that He's a genius

Good for him. Art should be enjoyed by those who like the work, not those who just see monetry gain.
sir blanchy! amazing story. ..and to think that he gave it or sold it 12 years ago and has been waiting all this time in case it was auctioned off is incredible. Especially many people think he had to be in the room to trigger the shredder. great story.
