I have to be honest that sometimes it's planned, but other times it is utterly a stroke of luck.
I also believe that the subconscious plays a part too since certain colour combinations just feel 'right' despite a lack of reasoning :Y
Ah. X3 And yeah, I think I know what you mean. You want to have good color combinations to make the most effective artwork. Like sometimes how you would want colors on the opposite side of the color wheel from another color if you want a specific subject to stand out more.
