Demonic Temptation | Original Painting (WoW Fanart of Queen Azshara)
Hey everyone :')
After having binged on the last season of Game of Thrones, i realized just how intensely involved i feel whenever i immerse myself in the story and characters of that universe.
The same also applies to Lord of the Rings, and the lore of Warcraft. Sometimes i'm surprised just how real the events the characters go through can seem, as if i experience them myself.
Inspired by this, i wanted to paint an event of one particular Storyline i enjoyed from Warcraft, which was the one of Queen Azshara, Ruler of the Highborne Elves. She wasn't one to pick just any guy as her mate, no... she was only interested in the most powerful (and corrupted) being in the whole Universe, Sargeras.
However he only used her as a tool to get what he wanted, which was to make her create a portal to her world, so that he could invade it with his countless demon armies. In return, he would become her husband and increase her powers even more. She was completely on board with this deal, yet little did she know how it would all turn out...

..."One day, the queen was met by her most trusted adviser, Counselor Xavius, who approached her with the idea of using the power of the Well of Eternity to cleanse the world and make it perfect in her eyes. Their meddling with immense magic, however, drew the eye of an interested observer: Sargeras.
Seeking to unleash his Burning Legion upon Azeroth, the Dark Titan entranced Xavius, pulling the counselor under his power, followed quickly by most of the Highborne and eventually Azshara herself. Xavius helped the queen communicate with Sargeras, whom she told of her desire to cleanse the world of the lesser races. Sargeras tricked the queen into making a portal from which was launched the first invasion of Azeroth by the Burning Legion, an event which is now known as the War of the Ancients."

was this drawn digitally or by hand? either way its very detailed. I like the blue aura/magic around her hand. I remember wow had a fun dungeon explaining her story line back in the day.
