Barney Smith, Toilet Seat Artist, San Antonio, Texas

That's correct... a toilet seat art museum!

If you ever make it to San Antonio, please be sure to stop by Barney Smith's Toilet Seat Museum. He has created every piece within, and he has the story to go with each and every piece! He is absolutely precious, and has such a great memory. Barney was an absolute delight.

We had never heard of Barney or his toilet seat art until our teens wanted to find a geocache while on a weekender. The geocache that was oddly located in a toilet seat museum was the chosen cache. We sat outside while the daughter went to get her father. He came out with a huge smile on his face! He is thrilled when people come to see his artwork. We explained that we only learned about the museum due to geocache. He smiled, and said "Yep, a lot of folk come here for the geocache."

We ended up staying listening to Barney's stories for quite a few hours. He was quite the character. Even the teens loved him!

He also does take suggestions on the next piece of art, or he did at the time of our visit.

Hey, I did some more looking into it, and this post did make it on the map! It was just accidentally placed in China, haha!
It's because it should be -98.4699 instead of 98.4699, hope that helps!
I'm not sure why you didn't get a comment though!

Hi @cyncarlton, I found your post on Steemitworldmap.com. I am from Dallas as well. Thank you for sharing the pictures of Toilet Seat Art Museum. I am going to San Antonio end of this week. I think it would be interesting to visit this place. I might not be able to travel a lot, but let's see what happens in next couple of weeks. I will make a blog post about this as well.
