in #art6 years ago (edited)

For this third and final part of my write up on Art in The city I would like to kindly invite you to feast your eyes at some of the work I photographed at the market.

This is my place of work, at least one of them. It has that 70s signature overuse of cement structure which makes it heavy and dated. There is a permanent hum in the small room where I teach my art classes but I love it. It’s central and most importantly it’s where the magic happens but don’t take my word for it. See for yourself!

This one strikes a balance with it’s simple understated areas and the intricate detail of the rocks on the top part. I think it’s quite exceptional.

That’s the work of Johnny Veres, an acquaintance of mine with who I had a one night stance once. He got back to me after breaking up with his partner with who he had been in a sexless relationship for a while. He was very disappointed to learn that I have a boyfriend now. Given how busy he is between his art, his novel and his acting, I doubt he has time to just be friends. You never know.

This Tunisian couple was giving their art away for free. Isn’t that amazing, they are so eager to share their art with the world that the take on the materials cost willingly. They told me that they do not sign their work because to them art come before ego.

These are the magnificent sculptures are by Anyuta Gusakova, her art is imprinted with an anime sensibility but with a french couture flair. If I had a bigger place, I would not be mad to let her fantasy creatures stare at me in my living room. The artistry is never overshadowed by the playfulness which make for pretty classy work. What do you think?
