Eddie Martinez Art Psychedelic Consciousness
This is one of my most recent acrylic paintings, it took me two days working on it off and on. It was my first time working on a hexagonal canvas and I must say it is the beggining to a beautiful series I have in mind. I am fascinated with symmetry, I strive to perfect it and develop it much further in intricacy. Symmetry is the key to other dimensions. The portal between realms of consciousness.
I took this photo and it inspired me to create something similar by hand, incorporating the flower of life and all the geometry that extends from it. Twelve points of symmetry expanding from the center. A magical mandala.
I first sketched it out with a white chalk pencil then I began adding darker layers of paint so that I could build up to the lighter layers on top. Working from the background towards the foreground.
