Hi Steemit family!

Today I bring you the life of another artist who gave a totally unexpected turn to the art of the last century and I trace a route for new artists in the understanding of the creative capacities of the human being, he began to realize his works in a period a little late in his life, in only 8 years he left an eternal legacy, I speak of Yves Klein. Come with me to learn a little about the life of this incredible artist.

source

Yves Klein was born in the city of Nice, he is one of the pioneers in the unification of criteria of artistic valuation of all times, it meant the beginning of a series of changes that managed to discard many conservative concepts of the circles of fine arts that imposed some practices that deserved and left without creativity, art was going through a period of stagnation.

source

Some of their contributions in this matter were the reinvention of monochrome, strategies for the artistic process, the questioning of artistic materiality and the exhibition space.

source

With his series Peintures in 1957 begins the process of reinvention of monochrome, also known as its blue period, the insistence was based only on the use of blue color in turn with this series supported and argued the monochromatic use as a composition process, resorting to lyrical abstraction and the return of representation. He even patented the color under the name of International Blue Klein.

source

This meant a lot, the use of pure pigment in his installations gave him the muse to advance in this technique that did not include some classic elements for the realization of a painting as for example the elimination of the brush, this was very criticized by artistic groups that accused Klein of impostor and pseudo artist.

source

Not only was he denying the use of the brush, he also forced to see the paintings from other perspectives, his paintings on the sole were considered a painting, this modification altered the principles of art, giving birth to a new aesthetic proposal, playing more with the perception of the spectator, taking him to a sensory terrain.

source

Another proposal seriously criticized was the exhibition Emptiness, a show where there was absolutely nothing, this demathelialization that was successful was done in 1958 in Iris Clert's gallery. a new way of disincorporating physical objects from art.

source

Perhaps his most transcendental work in his artistic career were the Anthropometrics inaugurated in the Galerie Internationale d´ Art Contemporain of Count Arquian in 1960, the programming of the inauguration was accompanied by some naked models and an orchestra with 20 soloists who played the monotonous symphony.

source

This was the first of many Anthropometries that he would make before his death, some on silk and others on paper, for which he used models that were painted with a paint gun, these works were made both privately and in public.

The main reason for this art was to remember the cave paintings, a way to return to the roots of art and to forget the acts of that time that shook Japan with the atomic bombs that exploded in two of its cities.

source

Undoubtedly the legacy of this artist is the starting point for the transformations of art to this day, that if we can not complain, there is freedom when composing, no matter the technique, no matter the country, art took flight as a bird that flies free to never again be apprehended by any government, military dictatorship or war. Censorship does not exist.
