The DADA Art Marketplace

We get many questions from people who want to know how they can sell their art on dada.nyc.
Here are some answers to this and other questions:

How can I sell my art on DADA?
At the moment, you can’t directly sell your art on DADA. We are a collaborative community, where people will eventually get rewarded for their creative contributions, and they will be able to sell and purchase the art created on our platform. If you want to be part of it, you can join the community and start drawing.
Anyone 18 or older can sign up to DADA.nyc and it is free to use. All the art is created by users in our platform with our simple drawing tool. Nothing is uploaded. DADA is a space to freely enjoy drawing and create collaborative art with other artists. Currently, we keep the art gallery separate from the drawing platform. Soon we will be integrating a way for artists to earn money without disrupting the magic of our drawing platform.

What is Creeps & Weirdos?
Last Halloween, we launched our art gallery with a pilot art collection called “Creeps & Weirdos”. We will be making more drawings and conversations available for sale when we expand our decentralized marketplace. We have approximately 100,000 drawings/conversations and growing! In the meantime, you can still meet artists from all over the world and talk to them by drawing together in our visual conversation platform. It's a lot of fun.

How can I get a wallet?
Artists whose work is featured in our art gallery or anybody who wishes to purchase art can download a Metamask wallet. More instructions here.

How can I add my art to my MetaMask?
MetaMask is just a wallet that you need in order to buy art on DADA or, if your art is for sale, to receive money. You cannot add art to it. For the time being, it is not possible for individual artists to put up their art for sale directly in our marketplace because smart contracts need to be coded into all the artworks that we sell.

How can I buy art?
To buy DADA art you need to have Ethereum cryptocurrency, which you can buy at an exchange like Coinbase. Once you change your fiat money into Ether you can send it to your Metamask wallet, which you will need in order to access the art gallery and purchase art for your collection. Can I print out the digital drawing I bought?
You can, but it will be a small print. Our drawings do not have the resolution to be blown up. This is rare digital art, and it is meant to be displayed and enjoyed on a screen.

I purchased a drawing but it is not appearing in my collection.
Crypto transactions can be sluggish. Usually, you should be able to see your drawing in a few seconds. More than 5 requests per second might get backlogged on Etherscan, which is where all transactions are recorded. Please be patient.
