hello together :)
this time i will show a row of drawings, where i added geometrical forms to the animals and skulls. it was interesting to see, how they change the drawings and give them more strength.
29 Rabe_Schädel.jpg
the first drawing shows a raven on an open skull. The triangle behind the drawing together with the shading looks like it is holding the skull and leads to a direction upwards to the raven. the fact that you can't see the top of the triangle brings tension to the drawing and keeps the curiousity of the observer.
30 Bison.jpg
in my second drawing you can see the head of a bison. again the triange is holding the head and together with the circle giving a background to the drawing. for the fur here i used lines and dots inbetween.
27 Uhu_Schädel.jpg
in this drawing i let the skull and the owl come out of the triangle, wich gives a vertical direction. the circle above leads the focus to the head of the owl and its eyes. it was interesting to leave the geometric forms sometimes in front of the animal and sometimes behind it, so that the drawings gets more depth. i also draw the geometric forms with two parallel lines most of the time, and put some shading in between them, so that they are strong enough to be together with the animals and skulls.
26 Hirsch_Lorbeer.jpg
for this drawing of the deer i didn't use a geometric form, but the leaves are almost giving the impression of a circle.
35 Hirsch_AT&T.jpg
another deer with the AT&T Building (New York, Architect Philip Johnson) in the background, one half more realistic, the other one really abstract. in this drawing many things are overlaying and happening in the same time, which gives movement to the drawing.
34 Schädel_VillaRotonda.jpg
this last picture shows a drawing of a skull, in the background you can see the half of the groundfloor of the Villa Rotonda, designed by the architect Andrea Palladio. I just drew the half of the groundfloor because you could mirror it to the other side, it is symetrical. leaving the half space free gives place for imatination.
thank you for watching and reading!!
