Male portrait with loomis method - step by step process
I drew a new portrait today. but instead of what i usually do, just draw something by watching and guessing from the ref photo, i drew this one using the loomis method.
i am trying to learn to draw the head in any position i like without looking at a reference photo, and i think learning loomis method would be very useful.
i didn't go to art school and i don't have the luxury to go to art school now, so free pdf books and youtube tutorials are my best option.
i am reading the head and hand drawing book of loomis and watching videos on youtube, like on proko and some other.
they have been very useful. though i think its gonna take me a while to draw a head from imagination because except for the shape i would still have to consider angles and lighting and other things.
i am hoping that i will be drawing at least one head everyday to keep myself going.
here is the one i did today
i didn't draw the hair because i thought i might make it worse.
i will learn to draw the hair separately later.
