Steet Art: Chitown Giant Burdened By His Troubles
Over the course of my travels I've continuously sought out street art wherever I go. I'm going to use Steemit to share some of my favorites while adding in some of my favorite zen koans.
A Zen master named Gisan asked a young student to bring him a pail of water to cool his bath.
The student brought the water and, after cooling the bath, threw on to the ground the little that was left over.
“You dunce!” the master scolded him. “Why didn’t you give the rest of the water to the plants? What right have you to waste even one drop of water in this temple?”
The young student attained Zen in that instant. He changed his name to Tekisui, which means a drop of water.
If you like street art have you been to Venice beach? My boyfriend and I love street art and always make a point to make a comment if we see something we like. We live in Portland oregon and there is a good amount of street art everywhere, but when we recently visited Venice Beach California we were amazed at all the incredible street art and the abundance of it as well.
I have been but evidently I didn't do a good job of checking out the art. Thanks for the recommendation :)
