Random Street Art • 12 / Athens, Greece Edition

Hello, Steemians! Happy Sunday to all!
It is time for my Random Street Art Collection and the second post dedicated to Athens street culture!

This graffiti painting can easily be assigned to contemporary art but I believe that there is quite a lot of symbolism in it. There is a bit of the Greek mythology in it with that cyclops head, but I have no idea what the cat is doing over there. I think this is some kind of pattern in Athens graffiti culture mixing strong symbolism and mythology with modern perception of art.

Here we see only text again but I took the photo because the style really impressed me a lot. The font of the letters with all those tiny details is truly interesting for me as well as the high contrast of the black and white color.

The next one captured my eye because of its color palette which happens to be one of my favorite. The only explanation I have for myself is that probably the idea here was inspired by the Asian culture and some cartoons which I am not very familiar with.

Those laughing ladies are one of my favorite pieces from what I have seen in Athens. The size of that graffiti painting was impressive!

Those two were painted on both sides on the wall of a packing store as you can s e that the name speaks for itself. I did only a bit of editing here and the colors were popping a lot in the dark and dirty street scenery of Athens.

For over here I have no explanation but it reminded me of Salvador Dali style so I took that photo. It is quite remarkable how the artist managed to use the shape of the building to actually improve the effect of its art!
