Kleve Germany Cartoonz

in #art5 years ago

This is a cartoon take on castle, the "Schwanenburg" in Kleve, Germany. This gem of a town is near the Dutch border and is in walking distance (if you don't mind walking for 3 hours) from where i live today.

There is a lot of history to tell about Kleve.

Kleve is a small city in the Lower Rhine region of Germany and is close to the Dutch border and the river Rhine. From the 11th century onwards, Kleve has been the capital of the county and later became a duchy. Today, Kleve is the main city in Kreis Kleve in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Kleve has been home to the infamouss Anne of Cleves (1515–1557), known for her beauty and excellent taste in the finer things in life. Anne was the daughter of John III, Duke of Cleves and for a short time was married to Henry VIII of England.

When in Kleve, you should visit the Kurhaus museum. This gorgeous 19th-century spa building is now a museum featuring a changing collection of historic mostly modern art works.
