Green Gathering Festival - Permaculture Area
The festival was awesome, a hedonistic, green eco friendly and welcoming environment.
There were different area such as the Campaign Field, permaculture, Healing Area, Sanctuary, Poetry, Comedy, Puppets, Kids Area, Crafts such as willow weaving, copper skills, glassblobbery, bow making, and so much more.
The permaculture area was my favourite. Which is what this post will focus on.
It had art with such depth with nature and politics also.
I attended 2 talks in this area.
One with Mike Feingold an Intro to Permaculture. A truely inspiring talk about decreasing inputs and increasing outputs in every day life not just your garden. He explained about making lots of little circles the most efficient way for example - You have a broccoli stalk, you could bin it, compost it, or feed it to your goat. The goat wins because it will turn the broccoli into viable by product in 24 hours. Creating another output for one input.
The second talk I attended was with Hempen a UK CBD grower. The talk was about how to start up your own co-operative and grow cbd plants. This has been a long term aim of mine for a long time. I found the talk very insightful.
You may have heard a news article about them where they have had to destroy a large part of the crop. Such a shame when the only corporation in the UK that can grow THC plants is ran by the government. Make of that what you will.
The art in the Permaculture area is shown in the photos including the nature mandalas and the Green Man.
