Work in Progress - Pet Portrait Commission.
Months ago, someone posted in an online community that they were looking for someone to paint a dog for them. I sent a private message, but heard nothing back until a couple weeks ago. So finally, I'm getting to her portrait. I guess this is about half done.
She didn't have any great photos. The one I'm using for this has no contrast, and is mostly dark. I'm having to try to find matching positions from photos online to substitute for detail. The nose still needs work, the eyes need work, and the coat will be a little more detailed by the end.
And I have two teeny tiny paintings to do in the next few months. Had someone over last night to commission a couple 5x7"s for some kids she's sort of acting godmother for. That's a super fun gift. It'll turn their little heads. Not too many kids have much access to visual arts beyond their own drawings. I love this as a gift idea.
I love art as a gift idea to anyone, obviously, but kids have much bigger reactions when they're wowed by something.
