POEM: FIGHT

Please don’t leave me
As you have my friends
Oh, youthful energy

We have blended our names
And on you I depend
As my body slips from me

You have forced me
To decide where I
Draw the line between body and soul

For if I fight
Against you I
Will expend what I have ‘till I’m old

But if I decide
There is a well
Deeper in me none can measure

Then I can expell
Let my earth body dwell
As I descend to heavenly treasures
