FAQ Flash Cards

Steem and Steemit come with some BIG questions! There's a lot to digest when explaining this platform to prospective users. For newcomers and experienced Steemians alike, these FAQ's can be tough to answer in a quick, approachable and easy way. We hear a lot of the same questions every day when it comes to onboarding new users within the @sndbox incubator, hosting workshops and meetups in New York City. After a while (and some trial and error) we've found that it helps to have a quick couple sentences for each answer. Those words and illustrations need to be clear and relatable otherwise your question-asker loses attention or becomes confused. Disruptive technology is tough to describe. So we thought it would be fun to create some flash cards!

Here are YOUR Top 10 Questions:

Our previous flash card post yielded some amazing questions. Here are the top 10 that we received:

  1. What is Blockchain?
  2. What is Cryptocurrency?
  3. What is the difference between Centralized and Decentralized?
  4. How is Bitcoin different than Steem?
  5. What is the role of a Steem witness?
  6. What is the difference between Steem and Steemit?
  7. What is the difference between Steem, Steem Power and Steem Dollars?
  8. Where does the money come from?
  9. How are rewards distributed within the Steem blockchain?
  10. WILDCARD! (See below)

Flash Rough Drafts...

Thanks for the answer... It's appreciated.

If you want them to not use all their power you can technically vote 10 times a day then with each vote 2% is used as of his power and takes 2.4 hours to recoup which means you will be at 100% power again in 24 hours. This is good to keep in mind once your vote is about 1 cent and more since at 1cent you like it if people vote and you can see that it is a full cent (psychological), currently I have the same value of vote at 75% (below 75% I don't vote a full cent) as I do at 100% and for me to keep that 80% power level as a baseline , because I like it, then I get an extra 2 votes out :) and still recover in 24 hours. This I accomplish by using busy.orgs slider to vote at a percentage. and since steemit.com uses your master password as the actual password it is just wise to not really use steemit as your main interface.

A good question @heroldius!

You are allowed to post almost as often as you like. Currently, posts must be spaced 5 minutes apart. However, the community may not find value in users that are posting too frequently. Keep in mind what your audience will be interested in viewing, so that you do not overwhelm your followers with too much content. FAQ Page Source

@sndbox To clarify, is it steem or steemit that is the owner of the rewards system?

That's great man. I can gurrantee that I knew the answers to all the questions but the visual effect just added the beauty and just to enjoy that I went on reading all the answers.
If we come up with something like this for many other questions too then I am sure it is going to help new users a lot.

This is cool. I’m gonna share it and use it when talking to people about STEEM and Steemit! Thanks for the post! Resteem

"Where does the money come from?" is the hardest question to answer! It's hard to grasp at first!
