The World is Beautiful... My Painting of the Night Sky!
According to the character Roy Mustang of the anime Fullmetal Alchemist, "The world's not perfect, but it's there for us trying the best it can. That's what makes it so damn beautiful."
There are times when I'm having thoughts like, "What if I live in a perfect world? How would life be?" But then, as I imagine further into an ideal world of perfection, I always end up to one conclusion. It is BORING.
When I first heard this statement from the anime character, I couldn't agree more. I honestly believe that the world's imperfection is what makes it beautiful. The same goes with life.
Humans will never be satisfied. We aim for something... do our best to achieve it... and when we got it, we move on to another goal. Of course, we also have to savour the moment and the accomplishment. Yes, we feel satisfied for some time, but in the following days, we'd feel stagnant. It's like... we're stuck in some place and we feel the urge to move forward.
There is no perfect world, but there are perfect moments. Being able to experience hardships in life would bring you much satisfaction when you achieve something.
Let's say for example, you have a school project. In your ideal world, you just have to pay someone to do it for you. However, in your imperfect world, you're struggling and trying your best to comply it before the deadline. In both worlds, you got a A+ for that project... which of your identity would feel more satisfied?
Achieving something is much sweeter when you struggled and worked hard for it!
So yeah, let's live life to the fullest! The world might be imperfect, but it's undoubtedly beautiful!
ABOUT THE ART:
I actually wanted to practice calligraphy using the paints I have at home, but then I ended up painting. I have always been in love with the night sky, especially when it starry. I also admire the various colors it has. The combination of black, blue, purple, pink, white, etc. I wanna go stargazing... away from the lights of the city, away from problems, away from other people. lol I want to breathe.
Anyway, in this artwork, I used a watercolor paper, poster paint, paint brushes,etc. Here's the art process below.
And then, I scanned the painting and edited it using Photoscape. Finally, I added the quote I heard from the character Roy Mustang of the anime Fullmetal Alchemist.

Everyone has to face different kinds of hardships in order to be successful in life and no one can be satisfied with anything. Until we cut the roots for our desires, we seek for various kinds of needs and desires. And till we cut those roots of our desires, we have to face more and more hardships. But anyway, we have to keep the things up with what we have and what we can. Never give up on dreams and yeah, let's live our life to the fullest!
About the art, it's so beautiful and mind calming. You have added almost every detail in the night sky and I like the colors of the sky. Keep it up Shei.

Thanks for the reminder. Though i wish i as driven as you sound. Its nice how taking a moment to do something like paint helps balance our thoughts. Nice painting, and a great reminder to enjoy the moments. Lately they seem to fly by. Nice post.
