Rediscovering Forgottten ART - a Day at Pompidou

in #art5 years ago (edited)

So I decided to write up a couple of posts about the art I encountered at the Pompidou Museum in Paris, France.

There are almost too many museums to count there, so for now I will focus on the art I saw at Pompidou, a modern building several stories high (actually really high that gives you a nice panoramic view of Paris) that was built several decades ago.

The museum has several galleries in which I encountered among others art from the 60s and 70s in which artists wanted to depict nature in its more mathematical precision. they argues that there are "hidden dimensions" which cannot be encountered by our ordinary senses. Only precise instruments may be able to pick up their structures and their content. The artists involved in this outlook try to depict nature in such a way.

This piece of art was quite stunning as it vibrated with its colorful display. It's hard to say what it depicts... Some sort of structure... but what is it?

What do you feel and what do you think when you gaze at it?
