Hollywood Opening Party
The Door Gallery opening was a fun, crazy hot (literally)
party.
Here it is early during the opening. It was full of fascinating hardcore people of all ages and inspiring work. It was smoldering in the gallery, so I would take breaks and go into the Burgundy Room for beer and ac.
Below is how my space turned out.
I took more pictures of the other art, but they did not turn up on my phone. Love this funky piece.
I took a break and had Unami Burger with some friends. It had an appealing atmosphere.
The Cahuenga Corridor in Los Angeles is a cool neighborhood. I feel like I am in the center of fun when I walk down the streets; surrounded by restaurants, theatres, bars, clubs, and more.
The gallery gave me a unique opportunity to just sit and talk with cool people. I felt kind of awkward sometimes because I was unsure if people wanted to talk to me.
I do love how you can still be young in LA no matter how old you are.
When at a gallery opening where I have some work displayed, I talk to everybody. People like it.
I am not sure how to approach people sometimes. I have gotten better at it after over a year of showing but this was a different environment.
I just walk up and say "welcome" and explain that it is a group or one person show . Then either they nod and smile and walk away, or they want to chat. I used to help run a neighborhood art association and got in the habit of approaching people I don't know as just part of the job.
Nice, always love art parties lol
I like them for a short time but when boiling hot not so much.
