Interesting concept! Perhaps you could assign a small panel of judges to vote on the contest winner rather than just selecting them yourself. Maybe have daily contests with a smaller prize and a weekly or monthly thats worth a bit more. Either way I like the idea. Best of luck going forward.
Thank you! I do like the idea of assigning a small panel of judges...but worry about gaining enough visibility so early on...to attract enough interest in becoming a judge. Perhaps after a few weeks the regular posters can be offered the position of guest judges and we can officially test out how this idea works. As for the smaller daily contests versus the larger weekly and monthly ones...you have certainly given me somewhere to start with thinking about potential formats. So far...I am inclined to post a fresh prompt each day and divide those accumulated post rewards between the favorites of the week. This way...the posts that might not get a lot of entries still go towards the grand total.
