Officially Starting

Hey steemers, steemians and steemites (I still get confused😆)
To officially begin, I want to share with you this piece of artwork that I've made and I will provide the steps on how to make it and I hope you guys like it.

So I've based this artwork in the phrase "A Great Big Ocean".

The materials I've used are oil pastel as an aqrtmedia , a piece of illustration board, a pencil and a cotton.

First, we need a pencil and draw the water surface, a small boat with a fishing net and a giant squid.

After that, apply a blue oil pastel outside the outlines of the squid and if you're done use a piece of cotton and blend it.

Then used a lighter shade of blue pastel, then blend it again with cotton

Then apply a pink pastel to the squid and blend it with cotton. After that repeat the same step again on applying pastel to the darkest shade of blue to the lightest and if you wanted to make it a more lighter blue apply it with white pastel then blend it again using a cotton. The trick is you apply diff. Shades to create depth in the piece. Also apply pink pastel for the squid but don't blend it with cotton and add details then drew the outlines.

And lastly, draw lines to really pop-up the figures you've draw, add details then we're done!
