Release? Or revival?

It may be time to pick yourself up and start over -- especially regarding some important relationships you've been involved with for quite some time. The New Moon is a new roll of Life's Dice in the first place -- and while Sagittarius energy is less involved with other people and partners than Libra, Life has conspired to put this issue square on the table for you ... and me ... and all of us ... to reconsider and work on.

(Something that happened back in Libra -- September 21 - October 21 -- may have inspired this. If your memory goes back that far ... and I know ... sometimes it's a stretch to remember -- was there a particular incident then that brought "relationship issues" to your attention?)

So it's possible that where an important relationship is concerned, it's time to turn over a new leaf -- or dump the connection completely.

Either way, it's time for some changes

Scorpio season this year was especially tough and instructive. (Venus was retrograde in Scorpio and moving back and forth opposing Uranus. Mercury turned retrograde the day Venus turned direct -- and has moved back into Scorpio now, too.)

It may have shown you things in your associations that need to change for damn certain ... like yesterday!! It may have also signaled in no uncertain terms the beginning of the end for a relationship that is on its way out -- even if you've tried to convince yourself it could be salvaged.

The dark, private, intensely introspective Scorpio energy this year (Lord, this year was a bitch!!) may have put some connection you depend on -- or valued -- on really thin ice. It's time for some final decisions ... a final verdict ... on whether this bond has any value to either of you -- and if not, the future changes a lot -- for you both.

Take the Cosmic View

So if one (or, God help you, more) of your relationships are feeling worn out, conflicted, stressful or unproductive and depressing ... it's time to either revive it -- or ditch the sucker completely. I realize that decision may not be yours to make entirely, but you're part of the process if you want to regain control of your life. Realize also that some relationships are simply not salvageable. There could be one "last straw" moment lining up even now to point that out ... in case you're still waffling.

Use the legendary Big Picture Perspective of Sagittarius to make some objective evaluations ... and choose some decisions that are ultimately better for both of you. Maybe you'll be able to talk things over calmly (!!!) with the potentially departing partner -- and maybe not. Each situation is different. But here are some things to consider.

Get out more / do something different

• Sagittarius is about embracing life more completely. Does this relationship allow the two of you to grow, fulfill yourselves, become greater and more complete, wiser, more generous -- and more valuable? Or does it hold one or both of you back?

• Sagittarius is about arranging new experiences and new adventures -- becoming more eclectic and worldly in how you engage with life and the future. Does this connection encourage that, fuel that, provide the freedom (and maybe the funds) to permit that? Or have you gotten stuck in a rut that you can't seem to break out of.

Remember the difference between a rut and a pit is the height of the walls. How would you assess your situation? Is it time for a new path? How can you climb out -- and enjoy a completely different change of scenery?

Be sure you're on the same page

• Sagittarius is about thinking bigger -- taking in a wider view of the world and its many fine prospects. You need philosophically compatible partners for both you and your direction. Do you have that? If not, is it time to change that? (Yes!!)

Is part of the problem the fact that you're not both pulling in the same direction -- or that you don't think enough alike ... or share the same overall vision? This is a fundamental issue -- and you don't need nodding heads and lip service. You need action you can see, and believe in, and count on

Open your mind

• Sagittarius is a highly intellectual energy. You don't create new visions and concepts if you only draw on old ways of thinking. Sagittarius energy is adventuresome and open-minded. (Aquarius -- coming up in two months -- wrote the book on taking risks and experimenting -- so consider this a trial run for a true break out time that could be coming up quickly!!)

Entertain invitations, opportunities and thoughts that really take you out of your comfort zone -- and ask you to grow as a person. Especially say "yes" to ones that help you gain more education -- in your fields of special interest or in related areas that advance your continuing studies.

Get moving

• Sagittarius is about Freedom!! (Capital F.) Do you feel hemmed in and limited? Are you carrying more than your share of mutual responsibilities? Are you simply bored smack out of your minds with each other? Is there an obvious -- albeit inconvenient -- remedy for that? Is there a way to rekindle the fire? Or is it time to pack up and move on? What does your gut tell you?

(New Moon energy brings powerful intuition and focus. It exists for a reason. For heaven's sake -- literally -- use it!!) Don't fudge your answers. What you went through during Scorpio deserves more respect than just falling back into old, crippling habits. Pick up your socks ... and grow up.

Rebuild / rekindle

• Sagittarius, with its upbeat attitude and insistent optimism, is about rebuilding from the ruins of what Scorpio left behind. If you can rebuild these "under the gun" relationships on a basis of creative growth and excitement, then they may be worth the investment.

But if you don't see that happening .... and if your partner isn't willing to go the distance and meet you halfway (or more) in this effort ... that's another answer you need to act on. You simply can't do it all yourself.

Again, your situation is unique and you need to make your own choices. But you need to rekindle your own joie d'vivre -- widen your horizons, embrace possibilities ... and realize the difference between commitment and shackles. And realize, too, the strongest boundaries of all exist in your mind. Do something different and see how it feels. If you have company on the journey, great!! If you don't ... don't let that stop you.

Talk to each other

• Sagittarius is about communication -- of what you know, what you believe, what you dream of, what you stand for and what you want to teach by example. It's also about seeing life from the Cosmic Perspective. Look ahead -- to get a fix on your target and see where you're going. Talk openly about "where you're at" -- where you're coming from, what you want, the convictions you want to live by, where you want to go and what you want to do next.

• Sagittarius is about candor!! Be honest!! There is an awful lot of fantasy, illusion, wishful thinking and the ingredients for deception lurking around at the moment. Yes, it can make you paranoid -- because it ignites your imagination big time!! But imagination runs on a two-way street ... and if you use it positively -- and productively -- it can build a foundation for absolute miracles. (Those are the raw materials!!)

Miracles are fueled by imagination!! Sagittarius is famous for those, too. Keep that in mind as you travel. This month is more momentous than most. It's time for a grand leap of faith. Believe in yourself.

Final note: Keep in mind there are all kinds of relationships -- not just ones with your Special Someone. There are friendships, employment connections, neighborhood associations, political bonds, siblings and parents, teachers and students. You could even have a relationship with a fondly held idea, fantasy or investment that could be "up for review" in the way I've described in this post. Think about it.

I think they even give a reasonable little interpretive reading of your horoscope as part of the package. You'll need to know your birth information -- day, month, year, time and geographical place. Without all that your chart will have limited accuracy.

Although sometimes the background pictures in our visual essays support the topic and text, they don't always. Sometimes the connection is clear. Sometimes it's symbolic and subtle. Sometimes, there's no connection at all.

The scenes depict landscapes and natural features, buildings and wildlife. They were chosen because they show something lovely or interesting ... or simply because the photo appealed to me.

Our spectacular and remarkable planet is changing at astonishing speed. Rarely are these changes for the better. Few people seem to know ... or care ... or have the will and power to do anything about this. It may not be long before the world humans have known and lived in for centuries is forever lost. We certainly won't be able to make repairs as fast as we destroyed it.

So a few years ago I began collecting pictures of the way things were ... and still are for now, a record of the beauty we have while it is still ours to love and honor.
