If you could meet a famous entertainer or athlete, who would that be, and why?

If I could meet a famous entertainer or athlete, I would choose Cristinao Ronaldo. The reason why is that I´m a great soccer fan I am from Portugal. I think he is a living legend for what he has done in the field and an example for future generation for is dedication, hard work and discipline. He is the living proof that hard work beats talent and that if one as a dream and is willing to fight for it, everything is possible. When Ronaldo first came to Sporting Lisbon, he was about 8 years old, and although he was an hard working talent, there were other kids that were seen as more promising than him. Those other kids came out to have little to none success and Ronaldo surpassed them without any comparison possible, due to his phenomenal achievements: 3 “Balon d or”, best international scorer in several years, all time top scorer of the “UEFA Champions league”. I could also include his team achievements, were he was premier league champion, la liga champion, UEFA Champions league champion, and Eurocup champion. Nowadays, he represents Portugal in the world, where many people, mainly outside of the euro zone, only know that Portugal exists because of him. Moreover, to the ones that recognize Portugal, he represents the excellence of Portuguese people to its finest. For these reasons that I wrote above, Ronaldo is definitely an inspiring athlete to meet.

At age 16, Ronaldo was promoted from Sporting's youth team by first-team manager László Bölöni, who was impressed with his dribbling. He subsequently became the first player to play for the club's under-16, under-17 and under-18 teams, the B team, and the first team, all within one season. A year later, on 7 October 2002, Ronaldo made his debut in the Primeira Liga, against Moreirense, and scored two goals in their 3–0 win. Over the course of the 2002–03 season, his representatives suggested the player to Liverpool manager Gérard Houllier and Barcelona president Joan Laporta. Manager Arsène Wenger, who was interested in signing the winger, met with him at Arsenal's grounds in November to discuss a possible transfer.

Ronaldo came to the attention of Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson in August 2003, when Sporting defeated United 3–1 at the inauguration of the Estádio José Alvalade in Lisbon. His performance impressed the Manchester United players, who urged Ferguson to sign him. Ferguson himself considered the 18-year-old "one of the most exciting young players" he had ever seen. A decade after his departure from the club, in April 2013, Sporting honoured Ronaldo by selecting him to become their 100,000th member.
