What an absolutely dominant performance last night by David Price. After being used twice in relief and starting game two, Price pitched an absolute gem last night to win the World Series.
Price pitched seven strong innings, his only blemish was a solo homerun in the first inning to Frese. After that he only allowed two other hits. Joe Kelly struck out the side in the eighth and Chris Sale struck out the side in the ninth to close it out.
The hero of game four Steve Pierce was once again the hero in game five. Hitting a two run blast in the top of the first, which is all the Redsox would need. But they played homerun derby to tack on three more runs in a convincing 5-1 victory.
This is Boston’s fourth championship in the last fifteen years. They were dominant all year long and straight through the entire playoffs.
What a year Alex Cora had as a first year manager....
