Indiana Womens Basketball NIT Champions 🏀🏆

The final four is happening this weekend and Indiana has its history of winning national championships. I spent the afternoon not at a men’s game but at the women’s National Invitaional Tournement championship.

Above are all of Indiana’s men’s basketball championship banners. The women won a banner of their own today. It might not have been the biggest tournement, but it was a great accomplishment for a growing women’s program.

This championship was between Indiana and Virginia Tech, with Indiana coming out on top, winning 65-58.

It was the most energetic women’s basketball crowd I have ever been part of. There were over 13,000 people there and it was a record attendance for IU. Tyra Buss of Indiana was the MVP of the tournement and had a phenomenal performance today with several acrobatic shots.

Another Indiana team is playing in the Women’s NCAA tournement championship tomorrow against Mississippi State. Let’s see if the state of Indiana can take both titles!
