I've been bringing the towel and laying on the grass under the trees in the park that's a block behind the beach. I usually go over and look at the water for a few minutes but not for long. I don't need the sun. The grass is super thick and cushy and the trees are great to just look up at. :)

The really weird one is a root of some sort. I think it might be bamboo. Or maybe a prickly pear cactus root. This stuff washes down the San Gabriel river and shows upon the beach.
