Our trip from Chicago to New Orleans

in #beautiful6 years ago

We love Chicago, don`t get me wrong, but it gets really cold in the winter

Me and my fiance left our home in Romeoville. Illinois that is in the cold Chicago suburbs. 945 miles north of New Orleans.

We drove for 15 hours to get to our hotel in New Orleans

It was worth it

We visited the oldest church in North America. St. Louis Cathedral is the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New Orleans and is the oldest cathedral in what would become the United States. The first church on the site was built in 1718; the third, built in 1789, was raised to cathedral rank in 1793. The cathedral was expanded and largely rebuilt in 1850, with little of the 1789 structure remaining.

This bird was taking a shower in the fountains in front of the church
