Tipples Beer Review #88 - Edge Brewing's range of Sours (Aust)

I picked these three beers up mainly because of the awesome beer can designs, the fact they were sour beers was a huge bonus for me.

Edge are a Gypsy brewer that have been around for a few years, they are based in Melbourne Australia and put out a regular stream of beers, some very good, some less so, lets we how these three brightly coloured sours do...

Jungle Gelato Mango Citrus Sour - very light yellow colour, smells like off mangos but without the sweetness, the taste is also a little off putting sort of tangy a little like pineapple juice that has been sitting there for too long. Very little carbonation, all and all not really that good.

Fruit Salad Sour Ale
6 fruits and soured with lactose. It's not a good looking beer a very light salmon/tan type of colour, there are bits floating in it, one assume bits of fruit which is never a good look. The aroma is faint, the taste is sour but strangely lacking fruitiness. It's quite refreshing and pretty enjoyable but not ground breaking. Would probably pick it up again at a pinch.

Amalgamation Dry Hopped Sour
is the most normal looking of the three beers, a touch on the light side but with a nice fluffy white head. The smell has a hint of hops in it, a little grassy perhaps. This is the best tasting of the three beers as well, sort of like a good steam ale but with a little bit more fruit hops and a slight tang in it.
