Delusion imperial stout by Greenbush Brewing Company
Imperial stouts are some of my favorite beers. They are bold, complex and have enough ABV for a pretty good buzz.
This beer pours near black with a thin 1 finger of mocha/tan head that settles into a fine crown leaves decent lacing around the glass.
The aroma is subtle. It has a relatively restrained smell considering it’s an imperial stout. At first there Was a subtle alcohol or brandy smell. That quickly changes s into some milk chocolate, vanilla, and toffee notes.
The taste is less subtle. There are notes of chocolate and roasted malts at first. Next I picked up notes of earthy wood and alcohol burn. The finish has loads of toffee, almond, chocolate bitterness that lingered.
This beer has a relatively thin bodied, but it still retained some milky creaminess. It’s light for a stout and had a slow-building carbonation that was great than other stouts I’ve had.
Overall, it was a fine beer. It had good flavor, but lacked some body. I’m glad I got to try it in a cold day because the ABV hit the spot.

Look like perfect weather for a big boozy stout to warm you from the inside - awesome pics by the way.
It was like -25 F when I took these. There was not enough booze to keep my fingers from going numb, but those are the lengths I’ll go to for a good beer pic.
